Author Linda Broday Featured on USA Today!

Some of my readers may know and some may not know that Linda Broday is my sister. When she called and told me she was going to be a featured author on USA Today’s Happy Ever After, I jumped for joy!

She has a new release, Texas Redemption, which is a historical romance set in deep East Texas where Cypress trees grow so tall you can’t see the tops and where Alligator swish through the dark waters.

Originally released in 2005, Linda was thrilled when Sourcebooks chose to re-issue it.

This book is special to me for two reasons. First and foremost, it’s a great story about two men (brothers) who both love the same woman. Secondly, she wrote it shortly after she was diagnosed with MS and then lost her husband.

She inspires me because she never gives up! When the doctors told her that she had MS, she quickly tagged it “Mighty Spirit,” and that truly describes her.

Here is the link to the USA Today feature.

Back Cover Blurb for Texas Redemption:

Desperate to escape her dark past, Laurel James agrees to wed the mayor of a small East Texas town. With him, life will be quiet, respectable. Safe. It should be everything she ever wanted.

And it is. Until Shenandoah rides back into town.

Shenandoah never thought he would find the woman he’s loved and lost…and he certainly never dreamed she’d be pledged to his brother. He knows he should step aside—he has nothing to offer a woman like Laurel James—but the moment their eyes meet, Shenandoah is lost. He can only find peace in her arms…but can redemption be more than a dream for a man who has known nothing but war?

    1. I’m so glad you stopped by, Mae. Yes, Jan and I have a such a deep relationship. We’re more than sisters. Our souls are connected in a way that’s hard to explain. We’ve always been amazingly close and when we were kids, we didn’t need anyone else to play with. Sending much love!

  1. I am looking forward to read this book. Excited to actually. Knowing it is associated with Linda and her MS exasserbation just makes me more excited because I’m a fellow MS WARRIOR. Linda Broday is my hero. I had not read in years because of MS brain fog and MS cognitive issues. I had a friend introduce me to one of Linda’s books and I discovered I could read again and the rest is history.

    1. Hi sejoc1968…..Your comment meant so much to me. This journey we’re on is full of ups and downs but we have to keep moving. If we stop, MS wins. I don’t want MS to win anything! We CAN live vital lives. We CAN show others the power of a positive attitude. And we CAN find ways to bring joy to our lives. I love you, fellow warrior! Carry on!

    1. It is funny, but every Sunday morning, after we have cups of coffee in hand, we get on the phone and talk about all of our writing projects and anything else that crosses our minds. I treasure those Sundays!

    2. Hi Gwen…..Yes we do. We are our own best cheerleaders. And I love talking writing with Jan. We help each other over the humps and celebrate our victories. Jan is truly my hero as well. She’s overcome as much or more than I have and I can’t imagine making this journey without her.

  2. Oh Jan, now you’re going to make me cry. I’m not a bit special. I was just born with a love for writing. Everyone has something and I just happen to have MS. I’ve never let it stop me from doing what I love. When I was diagnosed, I knew I had two choices. I could either give up or keep going. I’ve never been a quitter. Being a featured author on USA TODAY was really exciting. I love the attention this book is getting. When it came out in 2005, it didn’t get any notice so I’m happy to see this. The story is still one of my favorites. The swamps of East Texas was perfect for it and I loved going there for research.

Thank you so much for posting this. I love you with every fiber of my being.

  3. I Loved this book and I love Linda:
Witty, harrowing, & emotionally heartfelt, Texas Redemption has it all. Linda Broday can weave emotions and develop characters that will stay with you a lifetime.
Brodie and Laurel both have lead a hard life, an unfortunate circumstance brought them together years ago, but fate has stepped in to reunite them again. Evil is lurking and has chosen Redemption, Texas as its next target, but they never expected Redemption to be Brodie’s new found stomping ground. They are about to find out they messed with the wrong man.
Linda Broday’s ability to throw twists into her books set her apart from others. The revelation of the past will have you gasping for all they have endured. A beautiful story of letting go of the past, forgiving sins cast one’s way, and the redemption that sets them free. 5 Stars just isn’t enough for Texas Redemption.
